Rep. Yoder Receives U.S. Chamber ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ Award

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Yoder today received an award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his consistency in supporting pro-jobs and pro-growth policies during the first session of the 113th Congress. The Chamber’s ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award is given annually to Members of Congress based on key business issues. Members who support the Chamber’s position on at least 70% of those votes qualify to receive the award. According to this year’s scorecard, Yoder received an 85% rating with the Chamber in 2013 and has a cumulative rating of 90% for his tenure in Congress, tied for highest cumulative score in the Kansas Congressional delegation.

“Our economy is not growing fast enough to keep pace with the number of Americans who want to get to work. I’m proud to receive this award from the U.S. Chamber because it represents my focus on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs recognize and achieve their American Dream,” Yoder stated after receiving the award. “I’ll continue my efforts to help the Kansas economy grow.”

“2013 was challenging, but Congressman Yoder worked to pass legislation and enact policies that will keep our country moving forward economically,” U.S. Chamber President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue said. “The Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes legislators like Congressman Yoder who have demonstrated their commitment to supporting pro-growth policies in the 113th Congress.”
