Reps. Yoder, Cuellar Announce Formation of Congressional Beef Caucus
Washington, DC – This morning, Co-Chairs Representatives Kevin Yoder (R-KS) and Henry Cuellar (D-TX) announced the formation of the Congressional Beef Caucus to highlight the importance of the beef industry as the largest segment of the American agriculture economy. Currently, there are 35 bipartisan members of the Congressional Beef Caucus and counting.
“These ranchers and this economy are critical to all of our districts and to the strength and security of our country,” Representative Yoder said in his remarks. “This is a jobs issue, it’s an economic issue, but it’s also an American values issue. This caucus is about our heritage. But it’s also about our future.
“We want to support beef producers,” Yoder continued. “We want to encourage them. And we want this caucus to remind the American people how important beef production is to the American economy.”
Congressional caucuses are created for the purpose of organizing educational briefings for congressional staff and bringing awareness to policy issues in Congress. Yoder is also the Co-Chair of the Congressional Cancer Caucus and the Congressional Deaf Caucus.
Yoder serves on the Agriculture Subcommittee on House Appropriations.
