Yoder Votes in Favor of FY18 House Budget Resolution

Oct 6, 2017
Press Release

Washington, DC  – This afternoon, Representative Kevin Yoder (R-KS) issued the following statement after voting for the FY 2018 House Budget Resolution establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2018 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2019 through 2027:

“The American people want fewer taxes, smarter spending in Washington, and a balanced budget. The House Republican budget that I supported today achieves all of those things, and takes the first step towards the most significant tax reform for working families across the country in 30 years. This budget paves the way for reforms that make the tax code simpler and fairer for middle-class Americans, lowering their rates and preserving important protections for those families while eliminating the loopholes only taken advantage of by the wealthy. We’re following the successful bipartisan model put forth by Presidents Kennedy and Reagan, whose reforms saw incredible, sustained economic growth and prosperity in our country. I look forward to working with Republicans and Democrats to again come together and give the American people the relief they deserve.”
